Surrey Memorial Hospital functions both as a community hospital and as a referral hospital for residents of neighbouring communities. The hospital provides approx. 420 acute care beds and 186 extended care beds, and Surrey Memorial has the busiest Emergency Department in Western Canada with approx. 70,000 visits per year.
